It's Tax Day

Because our taxes are due today, I thought I'd cite a tax site today. The mission of The Tax Foundation is to educate taxpayers about sound tax policy and the size of the tax burden borne by Americans at all levels of government - it is a nonpartisan, educational organization. There is a great deal of interesting, and informative info here. My favorite is on the homepage about half way down and all the way to the right, click on the map of the US and get tax data on whatever state you select. Link in and get the facts on taxes nationwide.

  1. Yes, nonpartisan education on taxes is definitely something that a lot of us can use. Objective learning of taxes will help us understand the importance of filing taxes, what they’re really for, and the things that we can do to maximize the refunds that we might get.

  2. I totally agree, Clemencia! Basic education about handling taxes is something everyone should have. Filing our taxes properly and honestly is not just important, it’s also the law. Giving the people education about taxes removes their excuse for waiting until the last moment, or for not being honest with their information.
